Since its founding, the botanical garden is one of the bases of Hungarian chemotaxonomic and pharmacobotanics education and popularization. RIMPH has been committed in chemotaxonomy and education since its inception and its engagements has not changed since. Besides the founders of the garden, Professor Péter Tétényi and Pál Kaposi, the establishment and maintenance of one of the most important Hungarian herbal collections is related to the activities of Professor Béla Dános. On the professional day, the garden and the past of the Institute were commemorated, guests could listen the demonstration of the botanic garden at first-hand, and presentations were hold related to the current topics of herbal science.
